MARCO ALLEN CHAPMAN (m), white, aged 37
Marco Chapman was executed in Kentucky on 21 November. He was sentenced to death in December 2004 for the murder of two children, aged six and seven, in 2002. He refused to appeal against his death sentence.
There have been 36 executions in the USA in 2008, bringing to 1,135 the number of prisoners put to death nationwide since executions resumed in 1977. This was the third execution in Kentucky since resumption, and the first in the state since 1999.
